This pages a number of Web 2.0 tools that can be used in the classroom.  Many of these tools allow for student self-expression and creativity.  Blogs and Wikis are excellent for Language Arts classes and allow students to share thoughts on books, participate in book chats, or group writing collaboration.    Take time to explore some of these tools and have fun with your students letting the creative juices flow.

 


 

 

 


Animoto.com - this site will allow you to create digitial stories by combining pictures and music.

Voki.com - this site will allow you to create audio avitars that can be posted to websites and blogs.

Good Old Times - this is a fun site that allows you to type a message that will be played as an old time radio broadcast which can be posted to blogs and websites.

Wordle.net - a site for creating fun word clouds through the entering of random text.  Click here for sample wordles and uses.

GoAnimate.com - a website for creating and viewing animations

Moodle.org - is an online virtual learning environment in which collaborative communities can be created using blogs, wikis etc.

Schooltube - the educator moderated video sharing site

TeacherTube

Wikipedia for Schools - similar to Wikipedia but the articles are reviewed for accuracy and appropriateness

Twitter for Teachers - a collaborative site for teachers to learn about Twitter

Twitter4Teachers - created for teachers to find other teachers with similar interests and the sharing on Twitter

WIKI Tools

PB Wiki - a wiki site that allows for inserting YouTube videos; 

Wetpaint - is a wiki site that you can edit and add videos, pictures, surveys
