Grolier Online:  World War II Commemoration – this site is sponsored by Grolier Interative and offers a comprehensive collection of historical information about World War II 

World War II:  The Homefront – this site is sponsored by Thinkquest.  Thinkquest was developed by the Oracle Educational Foundation as an outlet for students to develop educational websites in a competitive fashion.  Winning websites are part of the Thinkquest Library.  This particular site is very well designed and user friendly.    

The History Place – World War II in the Pacific, timeline of events 1941-1945   

The National  Archives -  this site sponsored by the United States National Archives includes primary source documents pertaining to the individuals during World War II 

Wars and Conflict:  World War II - sponsored by the BBC (British Broadcasting Company)

World War II by Microsoft Encarta - this site, maintained by Microsoft gives an organized account of World War II chronologically including events that led to the 2nd world war.  There are however, advertisements imbedded into each page.
